Owner and Founder, Smitty Construction
Darren “Smitty” Smith was born and raised on Vancouver Island and brings a deep understanding of the local communities, landscape, and building conditions to every project.
30 Years of experience building custom homes on Vancouver Island, BC, in the areas of Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Nanoose Bay, Lantzville, Bowser, Deep Bay, Errington, and Coombs.
Darren began his career in the construction industry at a young age, working with several established builders across the Island and developing a strong foundation in hands-on craftsmanship.
In 1994, Darren completed his apprenticeship and earned his Red Seal Carpentry certification, solidifying his technical expertise and commitment to quality.
In 1996, he founded Smitty Construction, building the company from the ground up with a focus on doing things the right way.
Over the years, the company has grown steadily and earned a rock-solid reputation for excellence, reliability, and attention to detail.
Today, Smitty Construction specializes in custom home building, with a strong emphasis on quality workmanship, clear and consistent communication, and dependable project management from start to finish.
